Invisalign Braces Clear Correct
Your smile is one of the best assets you can have. Are you shying away from smiling your best smile, because of crooked or overcrowded teeth? Have you been putting off wearing braces, because you don’t want to be called a “metal mouth” or because now isn’t the best time to be seen in braces?
Worry not, as there’s another solution to align your teeth and smile with confidence, without having to put your life on hold. Presenting Invisalign – the clear alternative to braces that will silently align your teeth while you go ahead and live the life you want.
So, what is Invisalign?
Invisalign is an innovative, virtually invisible and effective way to visibly align your teeth – and get the straight smile you’ve always dreamed of. It’s a lot more comfortable than the traditional metallic braces, and is made with your comfort in mind.
Invisalign uses hygienic, custom-made, removable aligners made of virtually invisible plastic that will work silently to move your teeth to the ideal position, without anyone even noticing!
Both Invisalign and braces work towards the same end result – a straight and perfect smile that is oozing with confidence. However, here are some key differences that make Invisalign a better choice over traditional braces:
The biggest difference is that Invisalign is virtually invisible – there are no visible wires or brackets which allows you to get your treatment done without unwanted attention
It’s a lot less painful as compared to braces, with most people complaining some pain only in the initial days of the aligners being fitted
With Invisalign, you can have the freedom to remove the aligners whenever you want to. Brushing, flossing and eating are so much better without having aligners on!
Invisalign requires almost 50% lesser visits to the dentist – so you’re looking at a visit every 6-8 weeks, as against every 3-4 weeks with traditional braces
With Invisalign, you have the power to visualize each stage of the treatment right till the end, so that you have a better idea about how long it might take.
Once you and your dentist decide that Invisalign is good for you, here are some of the steps you can anticipate during the treatment:
In your first visit, your dentist will take X-Rays, digital scans and photos of your mouth and create a prescribed treatment plan
This is then sent to the Invisalign labs, where a customized 3D treatment plan is proposed on the basis of your dental scans and prescribed treatment plan. Customized aligners will then be made for you and will be sent to our office
You will receive around 3 sets of your customized Invisalign aligners, and be required to wear them everyday, with a change every 2 weeks
You will be needed to visit us every 6-8 weeks, so that we can check the progress and give you the next series of aligners
Once the aligner treatment is complete, you might need to use retainers for some time, to lock the new position of your teeth
Easy and convenient
Invisalign aligners are easy to wear and remove, so they won’t come in the way of anything – be it cleaning your teeth, or eating what you want, or even a special occasion.
Better Oral Hygiene
With Invisalign, it is possible to remove the aligners when you wish to brush, floss or clean your mouth – resulting in better oral health and hygiene as compared to traditional braces.
Invisible solution with visible results
Most people who opt for Invisalign start seeing visible results in a few months itself. And yes, the best part about the treatment is that it allows you to live your life unhindered by the embarrassment of having to wear ugly metallic braces.
Freedom to live life, your way
Because of the sheer convenience of Invisalign, you can continue living life the way you want, without the fear of your treatment coming in the way of your lifestyle.
Effective and comfortable
You needn’t worry about pain and discomfort with Invisalign – with its SmartForce and SmartTrack technologies, Invisalign is a lot more comfortable and predictable compared to traditional braces.
Fewer dentist visits
Invisalign is designed for comfort and convenience – and this goes even for the fact that it requires relatively fewer visits to the dentist during the course of the treatment – likely after 6-8 weeks. This makes it a great option for those always pressed for time.
Oh, and we needn’t mention that regular dentist visits can help prevent small issues from snowballing into a bigger problem.
While Invisalign is suitable for the vast majority of people, it isn’t always recommended for all. Certain dental conditions like intruded teeth would need to be corrected before aligners can be used. We will assess your teeth first and let you know if you can go ahead with this treatment.
It is also suitable for children provided they have permanent teeth. Invisalign Teen is a different product that allows for effectively monitoring the treatment plan.
No, but it’s fairly close to being virtually invisible. Most people would not notice anything going on, until much later when your teeth start straightening up.
Every aligner set is typically worn for two weeks, before changing to a new aligner. As we give you 3-4 progressive sets of aligners, you will need to come by between 4-8 weeks.
What’s more, there is a new device available that can likely cut down the treatment time by 50% - though there is an additional cost involved.
It might take a day or two after you start using the Invisalign aligners, to be able to speak comfortably and normally.
Well, it’s not absolutely necessary, but we’ve seen that the longer you keep them on for, it quicker and more effective your treatment. So it is recommended that you wear them all day, and remove them temporarily only when absolutely necessary, and clean them regularly.
Treatment time varies depending on your dental condition and the severity of the case. Consult with us to get a better estimate of the treatment duration.
The cost of the treatment is dependent upon various factors and could vary, depending on your condition and the result you’re looking at. Some of the factors influencing the duration and cost of treatment:
- How crooked / misaligned your teeth are
- If there is a bite problem
- Size of your jaws – narrower jaws might be more complex to work with
- Off-center midline of teeth
- Retainers post treatment
